Why is it better than the traditional keyed lock?

This is much more than a lock. It is a keyless Bluetooth access solution with more conveniences, more features and more security than the humble key. Some of the benefits over the traditional keyed lock include:

What mobile devices are compatible?

LockSmart Central’s Smart Access is compatible with IOS devices using Bluetooth 4.0 or higher, and running iOS software versions iOS 10.3 or later, and compatible with Android devices using Bluetooth 4.0 or higher and running Android software versions 6.0 or later.
For optimum performance and the latest updates please ensure your device is running the latest version of software and accept the latest LockSmart app updates. You can determine your device’s operating system version in your device’s setting menu.

How do I get the software?

Open the App Store on your iOS or Android smartphone device. Type in ‘LockSmart’ within the search function. Select ‘LockSmart’ from the search results and install the application.

Can I unlock with my iWatch?

Yes you can unlock your LockSmart Central hardware via mobile device, iPad or iWatch devices. The device needs to be using Bluetooth 4.0 or higher and running iOS software versions iOS 10.3 or later or running Android software versions 6.0 or later.

What if I lose my phone?

That’s not a problem. You simply log back in through another compatible device – mobile, iPad or iWatch, and it will automatically log you out of your old device.
This is one of the benefits of this technology. Losing your mobile device doesn’t void accessibility to your lock as it would if you lost a traditional key, and you also enjoy the security benefits of cancelling the old application.
You can also unlock your LockSmart Abode door lock via code or the back-up physical key in addition to using another device.

Can I get locked out of my home or business if the technology fails?

There are multiple back-up options to ensure you enjoy access 24 hours a day, every day, including:
1.Our back-up servers to avoid the technology going down
2.The keypad, which is included with every LockSmart Abode door lock providing pin code access in addition to unlocking via Bluetooth. The keypad operates independent of the server and internet, and therefore, will continue to operate in the unlikely event the server and/or internet is down.
3.A physical key back-up for unlocking your LockSmart Abode door lock.

Can I easily remove shared access?

This is a key benefit of the LockSmart Central keyless access system.
Unlike traditional methods where keys can by passed from one person to the next unknowingly and the owner loses control of their return, sharing virtual ‘keys’ is controlled.
Shared ‘keys’ cannot be on-shared, and as the owner, you have full control of their ‘return’. You can remove shared virtual ‘keys’ instantly and remotely with the press of a button.

Is it secure?

One of the benefits of keyless technology is the added security it provides to the traditional key.
Whilst there are no physical keys required, the day-to-day risk of keys getting lost or ending up in the wrong hands is eliminated.
Sharing keys is also more secure. Unlike traditional keys, sharing virtual ‘keys’ is controlled. You can track who has opened your locks and when, and can remove shared ‘keys’ with the press of a button.
Our team has implemented a host of privacy and security measures to additionally keep access restricted to authorised users and protect data. We use a range of techniques from firewalls, to IP geographic lock-outs to restrict unauthorised persons.
Users have a 2-code authentication system similar to a bank for protecting against hacking of accounts and our products offer 128-bit advanced encryption – the highest Bluetooth security standard.
The LockSmart Abode door lock includes an anti-break-in and security function, and random code technology protecting against intruders. A new security code is generated every time the virtual key is used.

Can I manage my existing LockSmart padlocks with new LockSmart Abode door locks in the same app?

Yes. Simply follow the instructions for adding new locks within your existing LockSmart app.

What is the difference between the Smart Access and the Property Manager software?

The Smart Access is for owner occupiers – whether that be in the home or business – and allows users to manage, unlock, share virtual ‘keys’ and track all their LockSmart Central Bluetooth products in the one application via mobile device, no keys!
The Property Manager can do everything the Smart Access can but offers additional features suited to managing properties externally. The Property Manager is a first-of-its-kind keyless Bluetooth access control system with a purposely built web portal with defined levels of access for agencies, property managers, landlords, tenants and tradespersons including an integrated tradespersons database, a full historical record of jobs and extensive reporting. What if my circumstances change, and I need the Property Manager software?

Contact our customer support team via admin@locksmartcentral.com and they can assist you in upgrading to the LockSmart Central Property Manager platform.

What if I sell my property?

Circumstances change, and our smart tech is adaptable to your changing needs!
If you have purchased the hardware outright, simply change owner of your locks within the application. See instruction manual for step by step instructions to change lock owner. View Abode instruction manual
If you have purchased via a monthly plan, contact the LockSmart Central team via admin@locksmartcentral.com to settle any outstanding monies on your contract. This will allow you to change the owner of your locks within the application.

How do I access the web portal?

Login credentials for accessing the Property Manager web portal are assigned at time of purchase via email notification by the LockSmart Central team, or can be assigned by an existing user through the web portal for shared management of their lock/s. Shared users will also receive login credentials via email.
All new users should follow the prompts to select a preferred email and password login, and then proceed to the LockSmart Central website (www.locksmartcentral.com) and connect via the ‘software login’ button on the top right hand corner of the website. You will be prompted to enter your login details.

Is the web portal easy to use?

Yes, the web portal is designed to be intuitive and is very easy to navigate. You probably won’t need the instructions, but if you do, a detailed list of web portal functions and instructions is available within the portal.

As the appointed property manager, can I remove a tenant’s access to a property?

Yes, once a lease has expired, you can remove the tenant’s access.

If one of my managed properties is sold, can I replace the landlord with the new owner?

Yes. You can edit the landlord within the portal. The new landlord will receive confirmation with login instructions for the web portal via email.

Can multiple agencies have access?

Yes the landlord can assign one or multiple agencies to a property. Appointed agencies will receive confirmation with login instructions for the web portal via email.

Can multiple property managers have access?

Yes, the agency can share access with as many property managers as they choose through the web portal. Shared users will receive confirmation with login instructions for the web portal via email.

As a landlord, can I give a new agency the 'keys' to managing my property remotely?

Yes, you can assign one or multiple agencies within the portal, from anywhere in the world, and they will receive web portal login credentials from the LockSmart Central team. As an ‘agency’ user within the portal, they will have primary authority over property access, and can assign and manage property managers, tenants and tradespersons to the property, manage jobs and export reports.

What if I decide to live in my property and it is no longer under property management?

If the status of the property changes and it is no longer under property management, the Property Manager software may no longer be required, and the Smart Access platform may suffice. Contact our team via admin@locksmartcentral.com and we can assist with revising your account.

I manage hundreds of holiday rentals. Can I integrate the LockSmart Central system with my existing online booking system so tenants can receive scheduled access automatically at time of booking?

Yes. We can code this to your system using API integration. Contact our customer service team (customerservice@locksmartcentral.com) to discuss your requirements.

How long will a custom system take to develop and what is the cost?
